ASICS combines classic 1980s court vibes with cutting-edge cushioning technology. The EX89, ASICS' newest silhouette, is inspired by the classic GEL-Extreme basketball shoe designed by Toshika Kayano in the 1980s. It was Kayano's first design project for ASICS - later he gave rise to the GEL-Kayano in 1993, which was first seen in many versions on the feet of runners and became household name in the streetwear and fashion scene over the last couple of years.

The EX89 has been given a clean and premium full leather upper, its main color white flanked by blue and orange details: who doesn't immediately think of the New York Knicks!!!? The basketball influences are obvious at first glance, but the modern interpretation of the EX89 is hidden in the midsole: ASICS has integrated an advanced FF Blast cushioning system into the sole of the EX89, taking it to a whole new level of comfort!

The EX89 already shows its strengths on feet even without collabo partners - retro basketball will also be a big theme in 2023 and comes out really well here! As of now, the "KNICKS" colorway of the ASICS EX89 is available at Asphaltgold in a men's sizerun for 129€, more colorways will follow very soon, so stay tuned.
